Marketing your business can be a time-consuming, costly affair, but there are ways to lighten the load – using local influencers is a great way to reach out to potential customers.
Local people with strong profiles and influence are perfect for helping you to expose as many people as possible to your products and/or services. They will have established audiences and by nurturing relationships with these influencers, who may operate their own blog or social platforms, you can get your business messages out to all their contacts.
Research the influencers you may want to work with and start a relationship with them. There may be a cost associated, but think how many people you can reach by working with them.
Larger brands, for example, send products to well-known bloggers in their field to use, review and share with their networks. It’s a brilliant way of getting a product to a massive, relevant audience quickly, relatively simply, and cost-effectively.
Smaller businesses can use this method too. Just do a bit of online research and find out who are the local influencers you want to work with. You may be able to write a guest blog on their site, ask them to review one of your products in a blog or video or post about it to their network.
Once you have established a relationship with your key influencers you will be able to work together on campaigns and content and build mutually beneficial relationships – with the influencer and their audience. Followers of influencers tend to trust them and so it’s a great way to gain belief and traction.
Start making a list of your target local influencers and work out how you are going to approach them. You can simply follow them to start with and begin commenting on their posts or videos. You may then like to message them and say you have a product you would like them to review. Take the long-term approach and build a solid, mutually beneficial relationship and it will be a win-win for everyone.
