Why am I unable to connect faster than 33,600 bps to my ISP after upgrading my Pace 56 Solo modem to V.90?

FAQ179

You can only achieve connect speeds higher than 33600 when calling an Internet Service Provider (ISP) which supports the V.90 standard.
Several ISPs do not yet support V.90 fully.
You can make a k56flex connection to these services by issuing the command S109=1 to your Pace 56 Solo modem.

Add this as an initialisation string for your modem (If you are using Windows Dial Up Networking, add this as an Extra Setting in the Advanced Connection dialog box)
