FAQ164 | When using the overlay channel to display the image on the screen, the image is transferred from the PCI slot to the graphics card, and is drawn directly to the screen. This bypasses the processor therefore resulting in smoother video images. To achieve this Direct X 5 or higher has to be installed and you must be using a Direct X compatible graphics card. If Direct X isn't installed or your graphics card does not support Direct X you will not be able to select the overlay mode. We would recommend downloading the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft¯s web site at www.microsoft.com/directx - the current version is DirectX 7a. |
