To confirm that the modem is correctly installed, you can use Windows 95/Windows 98 to interrogate the modem.Click on the START button, click on SETTINGS and then click CONTROL PANELS.
Click on the MODEMS control panel.
Click on the DIAGNOSTIC tab.
Click on the com port assigned to the Pace NB 56 Voice modem, then click on MORE INFO. You should then see a series of commands and responses from the modem. If you receive any other messages it suggests that there is a problem with the modem setup which is stopping Windows from communicating with the modem. |
