FAQ129 | Due to Plug and Play nature of USB devices, Windows 95 and 98 will automatically recognise the Camera when it is connected to the computer. If this doesn't happen it points to either the drivers not being installed correctly, a problem with the USB hardware on the computer or a problem with the camera. Initially, you will need to make sure that you have followed the instructions for installing the drivers from the CD. The camera will not be recognised until after you have installed the drivers. To check that the USB hardware is working click perform the following procedure. Click on the START button, click on SETTINGS, then click on CONTROL PANEL. Double click on the SYSTEM control panel, click on the tab for DEVICE MANAGER and then locate an option which says Universal Serial Bus Controller. If this doesn't appear then the USB hardware within the PC has a problem. You will need to contact the manufacturers of the computer for further help. If the Universal Serial Bus Controller option does appear expand this section by clicking on the Plus [+] and check that there are no Yellow or Red symbols next to any of the USB Devices. If there are you will need to contact the Manufacturers of the computer. If the USB Controller is working OK, and you have 2 USB ports on the same computer, try connecting the USB Camera to the other port. If this still fails, and you have access to an alternative computer with USB support try testing your camera on the other computer. |
