Why doesn't my Pace 56 Solo modem announce the caller ID when receiving a call in independent mode?

Caller ID relies on the fact that you have the CLI service enabled on your telephone line.
The Pace Solo modem is designed to work with the BT implementation of CLI.

A problem can also arise if you have a number of CLI devices on the same telephone line, disconnection of the other caller ID units on the line is advisable.
