About the Update

To ensure that your Pace communications product is operating correctly, download this Windows driver update. It is a kind of "bolt-on" file that provides Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT4 with information on all Pace communications products. These files are sometimes known as .INF files (information files).

How do I get the update?

You can download the new driver file right from this page. We recommend that you take care to follow the instructions carefully.

The update file

The update has been compressed into a self installing file, pace_modem_drivers.exe, to make it easier for you to download and install.

IMPORTANT: When the Save As... dialog box opens, select Desktop (the first entry) from the Save In drop-down combo box at the top of the dialog box. When the download completes, Windows will create a pace_modem_drivers icon on your desktop.

What do I do when I have downloaded this file?

  • Install the Update: Double click on the newly downloaded pace_modem_drivers icon on your desktop to start the installation. Then follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Remove Old Driver: Go into your Control Panel (from Start and Settings) and open Modems. Remove any existing Pace modems from the list by clicking on the modem and then selecting the Remove option.

  • Restart Windows: Choose Shut Down from the Start menu. As Windows restarts, your modem should be automatically detected and the new drivers installed. Check in the Modems Control Panel after restart to make sure (If your modem is not listed press Add and follow the instructions).
  • You can now delete the pace_modem_drivers icon on your Desktop.
