Early versions of the Front Office the voice software supplied with your Pace 56 Voice Mac, may not work correctly on some systems. If the following message is displayed Error initializing Connection Manager: 8, download this file which provides a solution for the problem.

To download the file, SERIAL.HQX, click here

IMPORTANT: When the Save As... dialog box opens, select the desktop as the location on your Hard Disk to save the file. If you choose a different location make sure that you make a note of it, because you will need to find the file to install the software.

What do I do when I have downloaded this file?

Disconnect from the Internet: Close your connection to your Internet Service Provider.

Serial Tool

Install the Fix: The file should have been unstuffed automatically by Stuffit Expander and the Serial Tool placed on your desktop.(If the Serial Tool has not been automatically placed on your desktop then drag & drop the Serial.hqx file onto Stuffit Expander to create it.)

Perform the Fix: Take the Serial Tool and drag & drop it onto your closed System Folder. You will not need to restart your computer for this fix to take affect.
