You need to download a program to run on your PC compatible which will allow you to update your Terminal Adaptor. This program is available from this page and is called ISDN_UP.EXE.

Check the current version of code in your T.A. by looking at the response to the ATI3 (or ATI4) command. (In Windows 95 or 98 use Control Panel, Modems, Diagnostics, More Info and look at the response to ATI3).

IMPORTANT: When the Save As... dialog box opens, select a location on your PC to save the file. Make sure that you note this location, because you will need to find the file to install the software.
Take care to follow the upgrade recommendations carefully to ensure a successful outcome.

What do I do when I have downloaded this file?

  • Disconnect from the Internet: Close your connection to your Internet Service Provider (you can't upgrade your T.A. while it is in use!).

  • Install the Upgrade: Double click (or otherwise run) the newly downloaded ISDN_UP.EXE file to start the installation.

  • Perform the Upgrade: If you are running Windows the actual update program FLASHUP will start automatically. If not then you should run this program manually. Either way, just follow the on-screen instructions to complete your upgrade.

  • ISDN TA Recovery Tool
In the extremely unlikely event that the flash upgrade procedureterminates abnormally (and only in this event), download this fileisdn_fix.zip to reprogram the TA (tothe latest version of firmware). Once downloaded unzip the file toits own directory and read the enclosed Readme.txt file for further instructions.
